Neumann Companies is proud to give back to the communities we serve.
At Neumann Companies, we believe that life is more about what you give than what you get. Our companies have grown a great deal over the years, and with that growth comes the responsibility and opportunity to give back. Our group of companies shows our commitment to helping others with numerous enriching programs and have exceeded $1,000,000 of support to date. It’s clear that giving back is an essential part of the way we operate every day. Read more below about how Neumann Companies has previously and continues to give back to the communities they serve.
I was raised with the understanding that, to whom much is given, much is expected in return. This is a lifelong principle that I strive to live by. Giving back, to our employees and our communities, is a privilege that we take seriously.
Stars & Stripes Honor Flight
Stars & Stripes Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization honoring veterans with a life-changing trip to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials and experience a day of honor and thanks they deserve. Neumann Companies has sponsored a flight for the past three years which pays for nearly 300 veterans to have their day of honor. Company team members also volunteered their time as flying guardians to chaperone a veteran, Milwaukee-side guardians and airport volunteers. It is truly an honor to show our appreciation to American’s veterans and give back to an outstanding organization.
Special Spaces
Special Spaces is a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) organization creating dream bedrooms for children with cancer. Children with cancer spend a lot of time away from others; time in the hospital, visiting different doctors, receiving painful treatments, feeling tired and nauseous, and often times being isolated.
Their goal is to provide these children with a special space where they can not only sleep, but also play, heal and spend time away from the challenges of their illness. A custom bedroom designed just for them. Whether they are dreaming of a princess castle, a butterfly bedroom, a pirate ship or a sports theme, we transform the child’s existing bedroom into a place that only he/she can imagine. A place for them just to be a kid!
Fit for a Cause
In 2013 the Neumann Family of Companies created Fit for a Cause, a wellness program that generates funds for local charities. Each month, employees track their minutes and miles of physical activity. Every month, the logs are calculated and equated to dollars. For example, running one mile equals $1.00, one mile of biking equals $0.25, etcetera. Through the Fit for a Cause program, the group of companies have donated over $200,000 to charities such as: Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, Zachariah’s Acres, Hebron House, United Way, Hunger Task Force, MACC Fund, Wounded Warriors, Fisher House Wisconsin, Ride for Kids, Children’s Hospital, MS Bike Tour, Special Spaces, Meals on Wheels, and many more.
Operation Finally Home
Operation Finally Home is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to building mortgage free homes for America’s military heroes and the widows of the fallen. Neumann Developments and Tim O’Brien Homes were honored to bring OFH to Wisconsin. Neumann Developments donated two homesites in Jackson and Tim O’Brien Homes built one of the mortgage-free homes along with our Trade Partners and Suppliers donating their time and material turning a hero’s hardship into a home.
Hurricane Harvey Relief
When Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, our team rallied together to help the flood victims. With the help of our Trade Partners, area businesses, the community and our employees, we were able to fill a semitrailer with donated supplies and with the monetary donations purchased 18 pallets of goods from Costco. A huge thank you to all that helped and for the moving company that donated the truck and drove it to Houston.
Kids Building Wisconsin
Kids Building Wisconsin is a non-profit organization that focuses on encouraging and inspiring kids and their families with the exciting potential that a career in the construction industry can offer. This fun, free one-day event provides hands-on learning and exposure to all the opportunities in the commercial and residential building industry. Both Sunvest Solar and Tim O’Brien Homes have participated in the event held in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Charity Walks
Throughout the years our family of companies have participated in walks to benefit local charities such as the ProHealth Care Walk for Cancer. This is a great opportunity to bring our families together and enjoy a day to give back in the communities where we live and build.
