A Family Legacy
In 1979, Mark Neumann laid the foundation for Neumann Companies, embarking on a journey in real estate that would shape the company's enduring legacy. By 1986, the business expanded into home construction, quickly emerging as one of America's fastest-growing enterprises. Mark's visionary approach centered on creating communities in harmony with nature, preserving fifty percent parkland or green space in each neighborhood.
Matt's Vision
Joining the family business in 2004 and becoming a partner in 2006, Matt Neumann brought a fresh perspective shaped by a Business Economics degree from Wisconsin Lutheran College and an MBA from Marquette. Guided by the belief in investing in the good ideas of good people.
Recession Rebuild
The homebuilding industry was hit hard by the recession. Many builders and developers were forced to close their doors. To survive, Neumann Developments worked with its builder partners to build over 100 spec homes per year to survive during the recession, helping keep the land moving and trade partners employed.
Capitalizing on the market opportunity in 2007, Neumann Companies helped co-found Tim O’Brien Homes, focusing on the sustainable building of energy-efficient homes.
Expansion Into Renewable Energy
In 2009, Matt identified an opportunity in the solar energy market and co-founded SunVest Solar. SunVest has since become the leading solar developer in Wisconsin, with projects powering homes, businesses and entire counties.
Net Zero Community
2017 saw the development of Red Fox Crossing, Wisconsin’s first Net Zero community. All the homes were built with PV Solar Array integration to offset electrical consumption, creating an energy-independent community.
Building
Affordable
In 2018, Matt, recognizing the demand for affordable housing, co-founded Harbor Homes. This, coupled with the inclusion of Halen Homes, broadened Neumann Companies' impact, emphasizing unmatched value in new home construction. A few years later, Renova started to bring the collective expertise of Neumann Companies builders to basement finishing and remodeling.
